Sonora was its own company back in the late 1800s, they developed the plans for a clock and SETH THOMAS purchased the plans and made the clock from about 1901 to 1923. It has 2 complete movements inside of 1 case. The movement closest to the dial inside runs the Time & Strike, the 2nd movement further back in the case runs the WESTMINSTER chimes. The Westminster chime winding area is to the right of the number 3. The key has to reach back past the 1st movement and wind the 2nd movement, thus the winding arbor cannot be over the 6 like normal but instead over by the 3 on the dial. They are known to be the most MAJESTIC SOUNDING MANTEL CLOCKS as the sound is played on bells and not on rods. They tend to have silencer levers, some have the famous SETH THOMAS PATENTED ADAMANTINE FINISH which is a coating over wood and was used on the models dating about 1901-1920 or so.
Your dates are more than a it off - the Sonora Chime Company patented their resonating bell assembly and chime movement in 1907, and used them in clocks with time/strike movements by New Haven. They sold the patent to Seth Thomas in 1912, and ST them redesigned the chime movement to work with an adaptation of their standard #89 movement. They discontinued the line in 1923, when they introduced their three-train #113 movement for Westminster chimes.
