Ordinarily we highly discourage this breed as service dogs but this boy is special and selected for that reason. Watch as he learns to pick up all kinds of things.

  • I have an article on it on the dogs webpage, but primarily the reason is that Giants are a protection breed by nature and that is NOT the job of a service job and the trait interferes with the job a service dog does and puts others as well as the dog in danger.

  • What a gorgeous, great dog! I'm sure his new owner will appreciate him!

  • I wonder why is the breed not encouraged to be service dogs... :|

  • We have a standard schnauzer. Schnauzers have all of the traits we desire: Attentive, intelligent, intensely loyal, playful, sturdy, and don't shed.

  • Pretty freaky cool. I'm trying to convince my GP to let me have a Diabetic Alert Dog. OY VEY! Lots of research involved when you need a service animal!

  • beautiful and smart dog!
