I got tired of carrying a bucket of water to the bathroom everyday, so I built an Arduino based water pump!

  • Hi, I'm wondering what type of solid state relay you used for the water pump.

  • @Jkumar1211 I don't remember at this point. I do remember that it was 3-280 VAC and 40 amps capable though. To run any amount of current through it you'll need a heat sink though.

  • i would cover the wires with electrical tape .. at least cause socket voltage can kill ... look at me being technical :P

  • @wil7vin Yea, I totally understand... I've been zapped a number of times by wall sockets... Thiss was more of the proof of concept for my own programming experiment. I have it all in a box now, with awesome buttons and lights! I suppose I should put out an update video eh?

  • incredible ingenuity!

  • @jokergd Well thank you!

  • Hey man awesome project. I've been looking into water pumps for my own little project. I want to make a self cleaning bird cage(retail ones like 450 bucks).

Was wondering if you can tell me what model pump you have there, maybe it can do what I need.

  • haha Thanks!

  • Think I'm going to start calling you Thomas Edison Jr. :)
