The headphone socket on the new logic board in my MacBook Pro is faulty.

This video shows the problem for Apple tech support. I have four sets of headphones I use, which worked perfectly with the old headphone socket. Now they all fall out and disconnect, switching the sound back to the built in speakers.

This is as a result of the last repair - I'm now facing a fourth repair job in as many weeks.
1. Logic board replacement for a screen flickering problem: no help.
2. RAM replacement for same problem: still no help.
3. Another logic board replacement: flickering has gone, but headphones keep disconnecting.
4. Headphone socket

  • is it currently fixed or what happend?

  • @wescoolya Yes, this problem appeared after a repair job for a different problem with the display blinking occasionally, so they took it in for another (4th) repair, but after that the display problem came back, so they exchanged it for a new model.

  • I have the same problem and it's REALLY frustrating. Thanks for posting the video! Can I use it as an example when I try to describe my problem?

  • @BoyleTonight yes, feel free! It might help your case with Apple even more if you make a video of the problem happening on your own Macbook though...

  • I have this problem! TERRIBLE! WE SHOULD SOME HOW MAKE A MOVEMENT AND GET ALL OUR MACBOOKS FIXED FOR FREE CUZ WE PAYED MORE THAN 1000 BUCKS FOR THIS SHIT... A 10 DOLLAR CD PLAYER HAVE BETTER PORTS THEN THE MACBOOK PRO...

  • See how to fix this at this link!

  • We've spent our HARD earned cash on something that always breaks and all apple have to say is "user error".

It's bullshit, how did my superdrive manage to break? My harddrive mechanism stop working? I spoke to customer relations who said they'd fix all of my issues providing they were a known error to apple. it came back with a new hard drive (which was under extended warranty) My macbook itself is out of warranty. I feel like complaining further up the ladder.

  • Thanks for upload the problem! I have this problem! TERRIBLE!
