CMPG Operation Parochial gallery is a presentation of a number of photographs taken during the two week operation where the truck was used unliveried to patrol the Midlands motorway network in order to deal with the high volume of truckers who fail to wear their seatbelts, or pose a significant threat to the safety of other road users by using handheld mobile phones, or by other 'in cab' distractions such as laptop computers.

The truck, a new Scania R480 was kindly loaned to CMPG by Scania UK, the emergency lights were provided by Woodway of Coventry and the vehicle livery by 3M, and without the kind help of these partners the operation could not have taken place.

  • That truck and operation I would say paid for its self with the pissed up trucker they caught on the phone. I know he isn't the only trucker on the road who has been smashed out of their brain, and there is no need at all to use any hand held phone. I used to drive a coach with a fully fitted Nokia Bluetooth kit. The only ones moaning about this, are the ones that break the law and have been caught.

  • @sarah19766 PS this truck was paid for by Scania

  • @biondoheels Excuse me?

  • @bennie128 i watched this it was brilliant

  • WERRY WERRY GOOD JOB OF ENGLISH POLICE.

  • @sarah19766 do the crime, be prepared for the time.

  • @sarah19766 100k tractor unit for 2 coppers to driver round spying on drivers. Do you drive trucks for a living? come on do you? no i didnt think so, so untill you have 12 months of driving artics with the phone going, timed deliveries, shite drivers cutting you up, vosa pulling you in coppers pulling you up for stupid things like (you have a bulb out thats £30 fine) etc etc so yes its just another way of making money and def a waist of tax payers money.....thumbs up if you agree drivers

  • @sarah19766 absolutely not a waste. it can tow incident trailers and equipment to large scale incidents. The fire service can use it to tow hig volume pumps to large incidents. it can and is used to keep lorry drivers in check on the roads. they can see into the cab to see if the driver is on the phone, cooking, eating, using a laptop etc. it is a brilliant piece of kit.
