The longest walking route on Amorgos, the 3-hour-30-min old-mule-track, the "Megali Strata", from Potamos in Aegiali to the Chosoviotissa Monastery, filmed on the first Sunday after Easter, when the traditional "Procession of the Icons" pilgrimage takes place.
Icons, pilgrims, monks, the clergy and the lay, churches, chapels, ruined ancient towers, hamlets, stone-huts, wells, cisterns, rock-graffiti, mule tracks, mules, donkeys, goats, sheep, birds, terraces, dry-stone-walls, vinyards, limekilns, phrygana, the botanical paradise of spring flowers, disintegrating conglomerates, vertical limestones, and the Big Blue, put to the soundtrack of church-bells, goat-bells, bird-songs, Easter hymns, careless footsteps and careless chatter.

Filmed with a [SONY DCR-TRV520] handheld digital camera, on the first Sunday after Easter 2006.
Video captured using SONY Vegas Pro v.8 on my desktop.
Edited using Adobe Premiere Pro v.1 on my laptop. Original footage was 24min, then trimmed down to 20min (!). My approach was cut-to-cut, time-linear [did not change the original order of shots, though I used fades and overlaps in audio here and there]. No effects used, except for a Kjaerhus Limiter on the Master, to keep the bells' peaks down at -2db.
Used Windows Movie Maker to convert the exported .AVI file to .WMV for UTube upload. It took just under 4 hours to edit and an extra couple of hours to convert and check results.

i really like this as am thinking of going to Amorgos. am looking for an island with good walking but not touristy. this looks ideal.
