  • cont->Most wmn in Hwd just go along w/the way things are out of fear of jeopardizing their career--Hollywood is very much about nepotism&networking, so there's a fear of breaking the mold &standing up 4what u believe in. When I lived in Hwd, wmn were very competitive (in a negative way) w/each other--out to get ea other really, in an effort to get attn &approval from men. I NEVER saw wmn protest agnst the rampant age discrimination, strict weight requirements, etc. Wonder if Hwd'll ever change?

  • I wish there were more strong, independent women in Hollyweird, but the reality is that women r stereotyped now more than ever. Once actresses hit 30,their careers r nearly over &if she weighs over 110 lbs, she's considered "fat." I appreciate rare films such as "Precious" that defy these stereotypes, but, sadly, they are rare. And, frankly, few wmn in Hwd are working toward changing this.
