i know the video is old but this is beastly. If my gym had good squat cages that i could floor press in i would give up benching.
-
so elbow touch and go is bad dam that's what I've been doing
-
great form. nice to see a true pause on floor pause. sick of the elbow touch and go technique
-
yeah i do them with straight legs otherwise youre just feeding your egot.
-
Do you have to use a hard surface or can I use a soft stretching mat?
-
Are these good for triceps?
-
nice pressing. Just wondering why do you tilt your head up on the 315 set?
-
No stretch reflex either - you're lifting from a dead stop at the bottom (which is why they're paused)
-
excellent. and to answer the question, these are harder. no arch, no real leg drive can be used. they are even harder with straight legs.
-
He has no arch at all actually.

Do you tink it's right to do a long stop on the floor before starting to push? Tomorrow I'm going to do my first floor press ME

Right? Interesting word. It actually makes the lift harder, and so becomes a good strength building technique. You might think, hey, he's resting at the bottom. But, on a 1RM, it means next to nothing. The fatigue is not muscular and so resting doesn't help much. A bench benefits from the stretch reflex at the bottom, pausing removes that benefit and so you must go from zero recruitment to full recruitment to overcome gravity.
