This University of Hawaii program brings together distinguished figures such as United Nations and government officials, humanitarian aid relief workers and peace-keeping operations experts in an exploration of the complex issues surrounding armed conflicts, peace-keeping operations and humanitarian relief as they relate to globalization. Some featured speakers include Michael Hoffman, director of the International Humanitarian Law and Policy for the American Red Cross, former military advisor to the United Nations Frank van Kappen, and University of Hawaii at Manoa political science professor Carolyn Stephenson.

  • the starving 3rd world people can't blame their OWN leaders for stealing everything they have THEN stealing all the humanitarian supplies shipped to them. Nope. either they get their arm or head hacked off or they buy the okidoke that the WEST is the cause of it all. its just insect politics folks- with a cute but underfed child's face selling it.
