Everyone misses an important first step (Important when there is wind - which is why you capsize for real!):
Once you're in the water, start by holding the bow line (painter) and your body will act like a sea anchor and get the bow pointed into the wind for you (instead of swimming it around by the dagger board). On a bigger boat in heavy air & rough seas, it's sometimes the only way that reliably works.
Let the wind do the work for you.

Try it in gale force 5 haha. I dont do that, i just put all my weight on the centreboard until it leans far enough. Maybe ill try that method if i crew.

@AltaMirage Wrong. Capsize is on a small centerboard boat when the past hits the water, when it completely flips it's called a turtle, a Knock down is when a Keelboat's mast hits the waters and it pops back up again.
