Absolutely not! The SI has 68 ft/lb of torque less than the GLI (according to Honda's website). I have a MK5 GLI and I never had an XRS or an SI pull on me while it was stock. Now at Stage 2, it wouldn't even be fair.

"Stck for stock" the SI has 68 ft/lb less...this means that the GLI pulls on it fromn the get go.

GLI Stage 1 = Torque to 303, HP to 252

Stage 2= Torque to 323, HP to 270

You show me mods under $800 that will even MATCH that. In this case, numbers = performance, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
