Southend on Sea claims to have the worlds longest pleasure pier. We checked it. Taking the little train out is pretty cool, especially for kids. Since the fire a few years ago destroyed any entertainment that existed on the pier...it is difficult to call it a pleasure pier. It is a nice thing to do...take enough time to enjoy some icecream at the pier head.
