Twitter (clue's in the name) is a 'location-data' extractor... worth 14-Billion dollars last year, twatter also bought the biggest location-tracking firm a couple of years ago... they have an advertising budget.. you think Fry didn't take a bung? all well and good stephen, but you said, in a short video about god, that we have to take everything in its totality, in which case i would remind you of the vile bullying abuse suffered by rebecca black. free speech isnt as great as its made out because people will use it towards extremely negative ends also.

Being one of the first to own a Mac says more about somebodies social surroundings, profession or their wallets and less about their knowledge of the internet and its use.

I'm merely stating that Mr. Fry might be over-praising Twitter a little bit, as forums, chatboxes and other means of communication have been dominant on the internet for quite some time before that

I do take back calling him a 'newfag', I'm not sure why I called him that at the time anyway.

Well isolation is a form of social control, twitter and facebook allow people with similar ideas that are geographically distant to organise with groups and hashtags. There are a few reports about how releasing information and organising protests was influential in Iranian protests and the Arab Spring revolts.
