"Montgomery College Today" is a news magazine show about Montgomery College, a public, multicampus community college in Montgomery County, Maryland. Montgomery College serves nearly 60,000 students a year, through both credit and noncredit programs, in more than 100 areas of study. The show features stories about Montgomery College's own unique people, places and programs. In this segment, we take a look at Game Expo 2005, featuring students from the Computer Gaming and Simulation Program and their unique final exam..."Pac-MC," a real-life simulation of the 1980's arcade game classic, "Pac-Man".
Montgomery College's gaming programs provide students with a well-rounded technology education that can lead them to a variety of careers. Students can learn web skills, animation, game design, 3D modeling, and computer programming—all skills that can be applied to a variety of career paths, in addition to gaming, such as web design, software development, advertising, film and cartoon animation, e-learning, biotechnology, and a host of other converging industries. Montgomery College offers an A.A. degree in Computer Gaming and Simulation with three tracks: game programming, game production, and game graphic design. A certificate in Internet Gaming and Simulation is also offered.
