@Gareththedrummer Any camcorder can get shallow depth of field simply by using the zoom, but the camera has to be quite far away from the subject, and the background has to be even farther. An adapter can give you that look in a limited space environment where you don't have the room to zoom.

shallow dof is meant to be an expression of your creativity...not to be used all the time for every shot...it gets annoying when people use it for every single shot..
