  • pure ignorance. eric clapton is probably one of the most knowledgeable students of the blues and plays the cover as a tribute, never claiming it was his own. also, while muddy played lead guitar and sang lead vocals on this song, willie dixon is actually the man who wrote it.

  • A lot of artists play other people's songs at shows, it doesn't mean they are "stealing" the song, they just really like it.

  • jerry portnoy on harp?

  • its only 'stealing' if it's done poorly.....eric clapton doing it....its a tribute. One of the best guitarists of all time, bar none.

  • No disrespect to EC but Healy's version is MUCH better.

  • Wake me up when this video is over. Unimpressive.

  • Awesome!

  • Jeff Healy's version is better

  • Clapton is good, but Jeff Healy's version is better.

  • I'm quite sure he paid and is still paying royalties for this song. Hell I read he buried Muddy when he passed away.. He had/has the utmost respect Muddy and blue artists like him.

  • Clapton is God !!!

  • Giving the creator/owner credit is not the same as giving him money. You're supposed to pay the owner of the song money when you use it or else that's called stealing. Lip service is cheap and illegal.
