Don't get me wrong, I shop at borders since I was a kid, but now I do the majority of all book shopping online.. amazon, ebay, halfprice, even retailers like halfpricebooks and go hastings..cheap... I mean, this economy is tough, and like it or not, its a dog eat dog world out there, if I can find a better place with better deals, albeit retail or online, then I will go there. Sorry Borders, this is the game of capitalism and you just couldn't keep up. Things aren't and will never go back.

I'm tired of the constant "blame game" crap with Obama and his supporters. Blame bush, blame bush, etc. Maybe Obama did inherit a mess from Bush, but has he done anything to fix it? No! Has he done anything to at least give us hope? No! So why the hell does Obama deserve a round of applause? He hasn't done shit as president except increase unemployment and the nations debt. All talk, all lies, all BS. I mean, he was supposed to be this "dream" candidate, so I think we should be further along.

I Love Borders & HATE Amazon!
AMAZON is SCAMMING us. They get an automatic 10% competitive advantage because they don't need to colllect sales tax.
Now AMAZON' is even trying to change California Law which would require them to compete on a level playing field & collect normal sales tax for California Education!
AMAZON is just another disgusting predatory corporation that only cares for special privileges, short term profits and BIG BONUSES!
BOYCOTT AMAZON!!!

@JMMT7022801 it's not management at a store level, it's corporate. I have been working there for 5 years.

This sucks! I love Borders...

You can blame Borders Book management for a lack of desire, passion and innovation, the Internet, and the rising popularity of electronic e-book readers, such as Barnes and Nobile's Nook and Amazon's Kindle, for their demise.
You can't really blame Obama, the Republicans or Democrats for this.
Fear not, America! The Obama campaign will hire all 11,000 former Borders employees putting the millions it receives from bailed-out taxpayer-protected Wall Street banks to good work. Surely they will relish campaigning for a president who has refused to create a green jobs program, extended the Bush tax cuts thereby increasing the deficit, and proposed cuts to Social Security to lure Republicans into a debt ceiling agreement. 4 more years! G0bama 2012!!
