as much of an ally as I am...I am fearful that the Dyke March did not include many Latino activists...I know the relocation to Pilsen was to bring attention to GLBTQ of color, but I sense the organizers ignored the tension that exists in Pilsen because of gentrification. Having loads of folks from the North Side, synonymous with gentrification and yuppies may have hurt the intent and only spiked fear in long-time Pilsenites that they are indeed losing their neighborhood, I could not

It seemed to me that the organizing was spearheaded by latin@s, and many of the people there were latin@s. The RCC was one of the few events that weren't put on by latin@s, and I think the only one put on by non-POC.
