This is filmed in High Definition, so if you can watch it in HD it should be better. This short film features Peppercorn A1 locomotive Number 60163 Tornado, at Chester on the 11th December 2010. She was hauling The Cathedrals Express Service from London Euston. You will be able to see her manoeuvering around the station to end up facing the right way for the return journey.
There is some footage of Tornado leaving Chester in the dark. It is quite interesting to see in the film masses of steam being expelled a couple times. Any comments and responses would be greatly appreciated Hope you enjoy.

  • Thanks for your comments, but sometimes there are that many people jostling for a good view along with you, that you sometimes you dont realise exactly where you have ended up

  • Nice video mate, but could i please suggest staying on the platform and off the ramp - im sure you were safe but if the station staff see too much of that Chester will end up like York, Kings Cross etc where often you arent even allowed near the loco, let alone the end of the platform. That said, its worth remembering that the cylinder cocks are quite good at launching bits of loose ballast and grit into the air - painful!
