  • "the blade was forged for you, and you alone"

did janos already knew the blade's purpose was to imprison raziel's soul as it did in defiance??

  • No, he thought Raziel was the balance guardian. He was surprised when he found out the truth in Defiance.

  • one of the best stories ever written...

  • @WweUndertaker2 the reaver wanted him because he infact is the soul inside of the blade, it had a desire to become whole again, he discovers it at the end of soulreaver 2 that he is the spirit inside the real blade, hence why the wraith blade was able to bond with him so easily.

  • This part really shocked me when I saw it the first time. This series had a truly epic story.

  • @blackgetsuga888 : xDDDD thats good xD

  • Kinda sad how Raziel's wraith self has more of a heart than his human self huh? Wouldnt blame him for wanting to hunt his human self down to kick his snotty arrogant ass. xP

  • I know why the sword wanted to take ion Raziel's soul, because in Soul Reaver 1 it didnt try to do that. In this game it didnt try to do that until he killed his formal self and in Defiance it sucked in Raziel's soul because If he didn't kill his formal self than none of the things about the reaver taking in his soul would happen

  • @Joudas

I'm pretty sure he thought he was the vampire champion, a separate role from the scion of balance.

  • The same thing happened with Crusaders. However, I still like the Ancients.

  • Kinda gets what he deserves imo, considering that he engaged in a blind, genocidal crusade in the name of the Elder God and his Wheel of Fate and banished the only race that resisted into eternal suffering. Raziel is so sympathetic to the Vampiric cause but is like ''oh, so the Hylden were a race at war with the Vampires, cool''. He doesn't seem particularily moved by the fact that Janos would've banished/killed him for the same reasons he did the Hylden... ah well, loose plot thread I guess.

Janos: Raziel you are the Scion of Balance

    Raziel: Really? cool!

    Definace

Janos: You have to seek for the Scion of Balance

    Raziel: I kill him
