Nissan previewed the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). The new vehicle moves from a truck (body on frame) platform to a unibody platform - Nissan's D-Platform, which is the basis of the Altima and Maxima sedans, and Murano crossover vehicle.

This move (though questioned by my die hard Pathfinder fans) makes the up-coming Pathfinder more marketable to families that desire seven-seater capabilities, while offering car-like refinement and convenience.

The 2013 Nissan Pathfinder is set to be launched in the fall of 2012.

  • Damm , what a disappointment that is a Murano with a third row sit. All the men in the interview looked gay. The Pathfinder used to be a mans' auto , now metro sexual at best. Get your hair done lady. Can you say 4runner.

  • @LerdoBurgerPimp While I understand and somewhat agree with your disappointment here, I'll try not to get personal and attack the guys in the interview. BTW, I know quite a number of women who drive the current version of the Pathfinder, and they love them, I guess in any form, this vehicle has its appeal. Nissan is only doing what other automakers (incl. Ford) has done... and no, I can't (and won't) say 4Runner, I will say Xterra though.

  • looks like a bored minivan or crossover , it´s sad ;, ( nothing 4x4 look

  • @brayis15 There's a reason why many body on frame SUVs have gone the way of unibodies or crossovers: poor sales. Like it or not, this would make the Pathfinder more marketable, and therefore increase sales.

  • Total disappointment , it is time to change the name from pathfinder to lane-finder

  • All these band wagon comments sick, stop the trash talk. It looks great and an all around refresh should be appreciated not shunned and until you drive one stop the bashing.

  • congratulations you turned a sub into a sedan. who pays these morons?

  • Everyone who says "it's just a murano with a third row seat" GET OUT! It's Way larger than a murano and more capable. It's still an SUV. I've said it before. It's about competition. If some other company is updating their vehicle and outdoing yours you have to change and step up and Nissan has done that.

  • its a 7 seat murrano

  • man, this is bad :|

  • This car doesn't look like a redesign or even a concept at all

What kind of designers the Japanese hire?

  • Nissan's designers better step it up with the design. I know people will say look at the numbers: their selling but nothing in their line up looks awesome to me. all their cars are pretty much a bubble. I can see why people would buy but me personally I would go with honda, hyundai, toyota first. Nothing wows me and neither does the ones named but i just think they have a better design. The 2007 maxima is worth the purchase but thats about it. Nissan=quality but not worth the money for design!

  • @HeldAtRockPoint You say Xterra, I say FJ cruiser. Just as most of us have male and female, Highlander has 4runner and Murano had Pathfinder, but no longer. This is the barrack hussein obama of SUV's. Trying to please people who do not reflect the movers and shakers, promising happiness to those who will never earn it. And in the end failing. Soccer moms have tons of SUV's to pick from. But real men with a family just lost a choice. Can you say Pulsar cuz Nissan can't anymore.
