Mike Johnson, Country Music's No.1 Black Yodeler, wrote this song on 3 July 1992. He joined the US Navy in September 1965 and went to Boot Camp at Great Lakes, Illinois. He was assigned to NSG-514 as a Communications Technician and served two Vietnan tours attached to the USS Constellation CVA-64 from 1967 to 1969.

Mike Johnson was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002. His Yodel Song Archives containing 114 yodeling songs written & composed by him are in Recorded Sound Reference Center's permanent music collection at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
