@TheRooster94 look at his record .he has the best record amongst any captain better than any llyod or border or waugh.Dont say he had players who were greatest in that time but he didnt lost a single match during 2003 world cup and 2007 world cup with a weaker team than 1999 waughs team which was about to be thrown out of cup.And one more thing leader of loins is never a lamb.Only a great can lead team of greats with such sucess .pakistan also had a great team in 1990s but wasnot successful

To say that Ricky Ponting is a sh*t captain is seriously harsh. He is the most successful captain in history (that is a certifiable fact, look at the stats). I am English and I don't mind saying it at all. He showed poor form with the bat but it was his teams fault that they lost the series because they just don't have the talent.

Ricky Ponting is a great cricketer and a great captain too, him and his teams have put us to the sword plenty of times in the past, but this is our time right now, we are one of the best teams in the world and as England fans we have every right to enjoy it. Australia will be back, and I personally hope it's with Ricky as captain... Well Done England :)

@eitherwaybarneyrubbl True true .. but if I can just stick my twp bucks worth in .. Shane Watson's doing his job as opener .. to be fair, he is. He's getting mid fourties to late fifties .. the middle order can't get themselves together :/ And .. as for Siddle scoring HIGER than Ponting .. hmm, I'm hoping this break during teh Sydney test will be a good thing for Ricky .. he is a good bastman, heck a year ago he was scoring centuries! :)

I have not been achieving what I wanted for the last 2 years. I truly feel for Ricky. At the end of the day, we all have to sit down and make solid plans that will help us achieve what we want. The rest is up to our hard work and Him.

Good to see a Captain take responsibility for the team's performance and to recognise that they were beaten by what was a better team. Even if you don't like everything about him, this interview shows us what a true sportsman Ricky Ponting is. Now onto Sydney and another England win!!
