Oh man, the disco dancing at the end reminded me of Nick and Kim on Prom Night (1980). Anyway, I liked the message of this episode. Young people should wait until they are truly ready before doing something so serious. They need to protect themselves, not just physically, but emotionally as well.

@clemdane - Lisa Whelchel wasn't, her character was. In real life, Lisa remained a virgin until marriage. You can see E True Hollywood Stories "Facts of Life" where they mention it.
