This sounds nice, but I personally think the best vesion of this song is the one sung by Danny Doyle.

Y'all, Danny Doyle also recorded this song, on the album "Twenty Years A-Growing." Check it out! IMHO, it's even better than this version, although this version rocks, too. One of the all-time GREAT folk songs. Jimmy Driftwood must have been a musical genius. :)

@hollywoodb1 the lyrics are actually "we took our longbows and killed us a bool (bull). I've heard Mick and Eugene do this in person a few times. Great performers and good friends

Hmm... I take issue with your lyrics... common mistake, but it is "We took our longbows and we killed a zebu" in the 4th section of the lyrics. if you don't know what a zebu is, go look 'em up. Great song though, I've been trying to find it everywhere lol.
this song was written by Jimmy Driftwood...i wish people would learn to remember to give credit to the source of music.
