Payton running her Junior

Payton flogging her junior dragster. This is a 512cc single cylinder dragster. It weighs about 300lbs with her in it, and runs on Methanol. I believe she ran 8.80 seconds at 80mph on this run. She spun the tires at the start, so we are going to put some weight on the rear to hook it up.

We started her out making solo passes to get some seat time and get a feel for the car. 80mph with your butt 3 inches off the ground can be a little intimidating. When she told us she was ready for an opponent my Uncle volunteered to put his Polaris in the other lane so she could start out with an easy opponent, somebody she knew, and not have to worry about holding anybody up at the starting line. I'm glad he was there for her.
