The Queen of Spades is one of the greatest masterpieces of all Opera! Anjaparidze is stupendous in the role of Ghermann! He sings with all the passion, lyricism, romanticism and edgy emotional- ism demanded by the role. The acting is outstanding in this scene! The unwilling and unwitting Lisa becomes defenseless before the pitiful Ghermann struggling with love and obscession. Thank you for this unforgettable post!

Agree, This is one of the greatest opera and this studio recording with amazing Andjaparidze, Milashkina, Kibkalo and Preobrajenskaya are more than fantastic. Only can concurrent with nearly the same cast: Andjafaridze, Milashkina, Litisian, Arkhipova. And Zurab indeed was one of the greatest Ghermann and Milashkina as Liza. Thank you for posting
