KTEH/PBS Interview with Russell Hancock who serves as the President and CEO of the Joint Venture Silicon Valley's programs and initiatives.

This interview was recorded at the State of the Valley conference held on February 12, 2010. The annual town hall style meeting, organized by Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network, provides a forum for citizens, experts, business executives, journalists, thought leaders and others to discuss the Valley's issues, obstacles and opportunities.

In 1995, Hancock served for five years as Vice President of the Bay Area Council, where he led programs in transportation, housing, and air quality. He led the Council's efforts extending BART to to the San Francisco Airport; he was also the project manager of the Bay Area Water Transit Initiative, which culminated in the formation of a new Bay Area Water Transit. Educated at Harvard University in the field of government, he also holds a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University, where he published in the fields of industrial policy and regional planning, He currently holds an appointment at Stanford as a Lecturer in Public Policy.
