In the remote Choco region of Colombia, thousands of families displaced by the country's brutal gurilla war are fighting for their economic survival. Aid to Artisans is playing a crucial role in the revival of these resilient communities by developing their marketable talents into handcraft.

For the past two years, ATA has helped hundreds of Choco craftsmakers grow self sustaining businesses by providing product development, business skills training and links to the local and international markets. These initiatives have stabilized many craft communities, while restoring cultural pride and giving artisans the economic means to afford needed social services for their children.

YOUR GIFT can help us continue in our efforts. In order to sustain the success of our work in Choco, ATA needs to raise over $220,000 in matching funds by DECEMBER 30th to supplement corporate challenge grants. Please help with a generous donation today. http://www.aidtoartisans.org/site/PageServer?pagename=CHOCO_Landing&JServ...

About Aid to Artisans
----------------------------------------
Aid to Artisans is an international non profit which blends a passion for the deep-rooted cultures of developing world artisans with a commitment to creating new opportunities for their handmade businesses.

Over 30,000 artisans a year participate in ATA's unique, empowering blend of product design, business training and marketing.

The collaborative relationships between ATA and its artisan partners can be measured monetarily, with over $30 million in retail sales of artisan goods leveraged annually- much of it in new, demanding markets in the US and Europe.

But our results can also be measured by the impact of the additional income earned. Artisans invest in health and education for their families, in strengthening their businesses, and in the economic vitality of their communities. Through ATA's work, jobs are created, houses built, children fed and educated, and most importantly, hope, pride and optimism are restored.

The ATA Colombia Choco project is generously supported by USAID (United States Agency for International Development www.usaid.gov) and FUPAD (Pan American Development Foundation www.padf.org/).
