THIS IS FOR JUSTIN MILLER'S CLASS BECAUSE I LIKE HIM.

Pecola Breedlove - The protagonist of the novel, an eleven-year-old black girl who believes that she is ugly and that having blue eyes would make her beautiful. Sensitive and delicate, she passively suffers the abuse of her mother, father, and classmates. She is lonely and imaginative.

Two voices are in dialogue: Pecola and an imaginary friend.

When Pecola is finally granted her wish for blue eyes, she receives it in a perverse and darkly ironic form. She is able to obtain blue eyes only by losing her mind. Rather than granting Pecola insight into the world around her and providing a redeeming connection with other people, these eyes are a form of blindness. Pecola can no longer accurately perceive the outside world, and she has become even more invisible to others.

  • Wow! Well done! this is my favorite book. my parents played this audiobook in the house all the time when I was a child. Very important African American literature.

  • Really Great job. I like how you made yourself sound young and innocent for the part of Pecola

  • man she is so hot and she can act, that is saying alot ecspecially nowadays.

  • thank you thank you. color an illusion for humanity.

  • *i don't think the word protagonist is appropriate considering there isn't a "bad" or "good" guy in this book* Great acting! I like the lighting, it really does sort of gives us your opinion of the split personalities. I enjoyed watching this.
