  • so, do you guys recommend this over the hpi baja? some one wants to trade me my savage flux hp for the hpi brand one but I could just save 500.bucks and get one of these if they are just as good.

  • @stikupartist3 Yeah mate I would definitely recommend a Rovan to anyone as long as you take into account that you will be needing to upgrade certain parts as stated in other posts here.

It's a good way of getting into the hobby/sport and as a first car very good value.

However having said that if you can get your hands on a pre-loved HPI that has not had the guts flogged out of it with some good upgrade parts then that could also be a good entry level car.

Either way you will be addicted.

  • POS rovan and the people that buy them.

  • @darkligtning2000

So you must be a HPI only owner then very narrow minded, why would anyone buy an overpriced HPI just so they can then spend even more on upgrade parts.

There isn't many stock parts left on most HPI baja that I'v seen as the HPI parts break as well, I'm currently $500 better off by buying the rovan and now have a lot of excellent quality aftermarket parts that a HPI user would end up buying aswell.

  • @darkligtning2000 Mate I think you'll find that HPI did not put a lot of R&D into the baja, they to are simply a clone of the original which is made by one of the random asian brands. They are simply the only big name brand that sells them so they are the only one people class as high end with a ridiculous price to match. Seriously I could not justify spending another $700-1000 to get something with the HPI branding on it. To justify the difference the HPI baja would have to be a lot better.

  • @darkligtning2000 HPI would've made their money back on their R&D investment a long, long time ago. The manufacturing cost would also have come down as most things do. Yet they still charge the same high price because they know blind fanboys like you will keep paying that price. HPI = High Profits off Idiots lol.

  • I have both they are the same hpi and rovan, hahahahaha! you are smart in going the rovan route, nice video.

  • were do you get these? ive been on th ewebsite but cnt find were to buy them?

  • I have 2 Rovan (RS). One is a buggy and one is a truck. I love them both. They both came with many upgraded parts and I paid a lot less than HPI too. Have run about 7-7 tanks in each (each tank lasts about 35-40 min!!!) and no problems so far. Had to replace the clutch spring on the buggy after 4 tanks but it came with a spare spring in the package and its normal wear and tear. Would never spend $1300-1400 for the HPI one.
