@RocketMusicTube Hey Dan..which bodywood combo do you think is best for the hard rock/fusion and straty glass tones?..i've watched all your clips of the Suhrs and it seems to my ears that maybe Alder/maple-maple neck is just in the right spot for best of all worlds?..I know basswood/maple is mean't to be John's Holy Grail tone but it seems maybe a tad TOO neutral to me?..what are your thoughts?...And it sounds like Mahogany gets too snarly/wooley on high gain?

I think you got it.
I also really love Swamp Ash with maple neck. Yep, John loves Basswood and Maple, and I understand why. I tend to like ash and alder for the glassy tones, but I think the tone is all in there in any of the combinations. Next to each other, they sound different, but when I EQ the amp accordingly, I can find it those Suhr wood combos without much work.
