The song is more about loving someone so much you can't bear to see them go through any kind of suffering, wanting to protect them.
Nobody likes to see someone they love hurting, especially when they can't do anything about it. As hard as it is to accept, sometimes you have to watch the person you love be in pain and just be there for them through it.
You can't force someone to not feel bad, even if you want to, even if it hurts you to see them hurting.
You can't always protect them.

The song is a perfect fit for the brothers, they get themselves into more trouble trying to protect each other though. Great vid.

I think simply shows a genuine desire to protect someone you love be-it a child, a wife or girlfriend or whomever... So often in the process of protecting someone we deprive them of growing experiences so absolutely necessary to or development. I Think of my children when I hear this. So often I didn't let them do things in order to make sure there was no negative outcome. In doing so I prevented them from having to deal with situations that they needed to deal with. I'm working to fix this.

No armor is perfect, but it's something that is always dulling the pain. Armor, although hard to accept, once used will help.

@LeksServices I think you're taking this a little more seriously than its meant to be. It comes so much later in the song that I think the idea is caring too much, protecting someone you Love too much by accident. And caring too much is, imo, not worse than physical rape.
