Myra Fox, director of Child Life Services, talks about the field of child life and her experience as a pioneering play lady. Fox began her career at Children's in 1964 and as she gets ready to retire, she reflects on how the hospital has changed and how the field of child life has evolved. Even after 44 years, Fox still maintains that the two most important things in helping a child cope with hospitalization are play and family-centered care.
