I am so glad to hear the old ellie's "suffering" wasn't ended "humanely" by the do-gooders.
I'm sick of animals being killed "humanely".

Have seen elephants walk off and leave there young when they cant keep up without even a glimpse back... where is the closure or structure you speak of in that i think maybe u applied some human value and emmotion too......

It is well documented that ellies do everything they can to care for the old & sick or the young & weak. They support the dying when the time comes & have been known to visit remains or death sites for years. Even unrelated herds seem to respect the remains. In this case, the herd stayed with the matriarch while she died & have returned to the carcass at least once. The herd is caring for the calf. Can you cite a real case where a herd deliberately left young behind as you claim you have seen?
