Come on, stuart! The Blues started in 1947 flying the F6F-5 Hellcat!! As someone else noted, the Red Arrows and Blues fly completely distinct routines with completely different aircraft and capabilities. It's like comparing Ruth and Aaron. So take a breath and enjoy the incredible skill demonstrated year-after year..since 1947.. by the Blue Angels.

@steamboatcoco: Why do the thunderbirds wear air mask's but the blue angels dont?
JM: Air Force regs is the answer. Air Force requires mask on and visor down during takeoff, landing and in-flight refueling. ...and also when flying at low level. The T-Birds simply choose to do it with a little more safety in case of a bird strike. The Blue Angels like to do it Hollywood style. In all these years it's amazing that there hasn't been a bird strike while flying shows like this down on the deck.

I gotta say something here, a knife edge pass usually goes down the length of the runway...or down the length of the main crowd at least. I didn't see him maintain any knife edge pass here. Yeah, I know, he said, "UTah's goin knife edge." But I didn't see it. Anyone?

@JetMechMA Yea they are awesome and the best aviators in the world. He was saying it to MO so he can make a correction on the circle and arrival chart they have so they know that its not the same from then and they can put them back into the proper alignment for the run-ins they make to show center.
-
@Peaches7572 After listening again, it sounds like you are right. Was he saying that to MO?...so MO could relay that to the boat operators? I can't get enough of these guys. I admire the heck out of them. I think it's the greatest thing in the world that this Blue Angels pilot put these videos on Youtube. They should be mandatory viewing for anyone who thinks they want to be a fighter pilot. This is the standard they are going to have to live up to...if they think they have the right stuff.
-
@JetMechMA It sounds like he said the Boats were way out of alignment, probably for the lines the fly to center point.
-
Right at the end somebody said, "...something, something....."out of alignment." What was out of alignment? The formation? Damn! These guys are supermen. Not only are they flying a super routine for an individual, they are doing it in formation.

That pilot is one cool guy love him who is he...from the uk ..BLUE ANGELS NO 1
This show was flown over Elliot Bay in Seattle...hence no line other than two boats in the water...and they unfortunately were not in alignment and had to be repositioned.
Best wishes,
UTah
