Athenian Democracy would be bad because of two things, 1) There are a lot of things to vote on in this country, 2) people dont always know what they are voting for. The problem is that there are way too many bills for us to keep track of, so most of us would choose not to, so we would get uninformed votes or very few people voting to begin with. So Athenian democracy would not work.

Just as Capitalism is.None of these systems have ever existed in history in their pure form...All we have ever seen...is hybridized, partial systems that were instituted, and misleadingly labeled, for some cartel's personal gain.Know you definitions and your history.And then fight for your freedom.You are losing it by the day.

And I am part of the 1%....and still an Occupier by choice...And the entire system sucks...We need to move back to Athenian Direct Democracy...and undermine the cartel influence in this system...ditch all the parties and vote directly on each and every subject...otherwise, we cannot compete with the influence of power and corruption...It doesn't matter what the party is...

Just a word of caution...go study the words "fascism", "socialism" and "communism"...before you go injecting them into your discussion...99.9% of US Americans can not even tell you the difference, the history or the theories behind these systems...

The American right are self-obsessed fascists and as evil as the money that bought them.

The American left are communitarian fascists and as evil as the money that bought them.

Both sides are opposed to reason and compromise. It's probably one of the worst times in history to be an American. For me, the 99% is the amount of a value in my home and possessions that I lost when the economy crashed. As a poor person, I payed my share of the deficit in lost home value.
