@Sadsms Do you know I don't know, you get shortchanged on geography in places like that, the English is fairly good but they only talk on certain subjects, it is just past a village called Grimpiliana, you go over the mountain and a few miles further is Kissamos, the descent is on the Kissamos side, I was stay in Gerani for two weeks, best holiday I ever had.the descent is about 3 miles and on wide roads but terrifying, 50mph is nothing in a car but..................... It was the (contd).

Looks like you were holding the camera with your teeth!
Is this the one Kelly did at 75 mph?

@davidoffon Yep - this is the one. I'm not sure what the state of play is now about using carbon wheels on the descent, but in 2006 when carbons were first being used on mass in the tour, nearly all the riders resorted to spoked wheels for the Joux Plane stage on account of the rough descent. According to my garmin, I hit 63 down it near the lower and smoother slopes. Serious respect to Kelly but that aside, he must have had a screw loose. The camera couldn't cope with it really....

@Sadsms Thanks, when you get the chance to work away from the farm likehe did, you grab it so hard you end up with racing handlebars. The fastest I've been is 49.9 down a mountain twenty miles west of Chania in Crete.
That was on 2 month old Sciroccos, not great whgeels at all, I' ve now got one and a half pairs of second hand Boras,I 'd love to do it again, after doing nearly 50, i went back next day, wind was up the mountain insrtead of down & I was doing 17-20 with brush blowing up against me
