Somewhat spooky maritime sentinel in coastal Oregon, at night. First comes a high pitch, followed a few seconds later by a quieter low-pitch. Interestingly, the time-offset varies in cycles, so that sometimes, the two horns blast at once, while at other times, several seconds separate the two. But, you have to be there to hear that.

  • I spent all last summer working in Windy Bay, and instead of paying to camp I slept in the back of my explorer in front of the lighthouse, looking out to sea! Beautiful!

  • Well, that lighthouse deserves the attention. I suggest buying some of the new 41 cent Pacific Lighthouse postage stamps. One of the 5 chosen is Umpqua.

  • Where is the foghorn? I've looked all over the internet, and I can't it! If anybody knows where these foghorns are, please let me know! Much will be appreciated!

  • I wasn't aware that this lighthouse had a fog horn, although it sounds more like a fog whistle lol nice little snippet though.
