I shot this while I was over on holiday visiting my sister Estyn in New York, much of the holiday was spent on the subway! It was shot on her little Canon Ixus 55. This was our first collaboration.

It's is a sequence of animated photographs, in two tonal modes, b&w high contrast and direct positives.. taken on the New York Subway. Estyn is my co-collaborator and the recurring subject in the piece. The inspiration came from her daily subway commute listening to music and her wish to be able to dance to it. It is a strangely alienated environment, the mechanics and linear forms are a great metaphor for urban living..

  • This is sweeter than a sugar coated care bear floating through love-land to save the life of an orphan kitten.

  • Saw this at RedEye's Projection '09 event very impressive.

  • this is a beautiful piece, I love it.
