Children's Hospices in Critical Condition

New research shows that a staggering amount of people living in the UK (94%) believe sustained long term funding for children's hospices is vitally important, with 73% demanding the majority of money should come from the government.

Children's hospices provide essential respite and palliative care for thousands of children who will die before they reach adulthood- and their familes- each year, but unless consistent funding can be secured many face cut backs or even closure.

These statistics have inspired a public 'call to action' and mark the launch of 'Fair Play for Children's Hospices' which aims to secure sustained long term government funding for children's hospice services.

Fair Play is not asking for donations, just that the public visit www.fairplayforchildren.org.uk to 'click and pledge' their support."

I'm from Canada and we are lucky to have "Canuck Place" available to us free of charge. Most of their funding is from charity fundraising and the hockey team " Vancouver Canucks" and their fans. Would football players and supporters in the U.K. be interested in supporting the U.K.hospices?

As a father of two boys with leukodystrophy I know first hand just how valuable a children's hospice is.
