For Internet Entrepreneurs, there's hardly anything more valuable than quality information. That's why finding a site like Clickz.com the other day made my info-dar go off like crazy... but keep reading, I was in for a let down in one critical area that no infoprovider (including Clickz.com) should ignore...
If you're familiar with the Clickz site then the one fatal flaw I uncovered has probably bugged you as much as it bugged me...In just a second, I'm going to reveal a companion resource that picks up where Clickz.com trails off, and delivers valuable, implementable information for the novice to the all out expert. But first, I've got to give the team at Clickz.com some major props.
The stellar team at Clickz.com has put together a wealth of information on email marketing - enough to keep you busy reading for weeks...From email deliverability to email marketing optimization and even email marketing best practices, they've got pretty much all their bases covered, and the articles I've read so far have been packed with grade-A material.
Now for my major gripe: For a site like Clickz.com that focuses so much attention on email marketing, their site offers little to nothing in terms of action steps, how-to info, and tutorials. They've got some great free seminars and other training materials for you to grab right there on their site at www.Clickz.com... but when it comes down to it and you're wondering: "ok guys, how do I get started" they kinda hang you out to dry. And it's no wonder, I mean, they've tackled a huge niche - "Internet Marketing" is a massive subject, and I'm sure they keep busy enough just publishing all their fantastic information - unfortunately, at the Clickz home site, the helpfulness train stops there and leaves you at the station.
Personally, I expect a little more from my "Guru's." Not only do I want to learn some great lessons and hear about new trends in email marketing and Internet Tech, but I want simple, paint-by-numbers style action plans to guide me through the process.
On the other hand, I'm spoiled. I work for Tellman Knudson at Overcome Everything Inc, and we're in the Infopublishing arena too. What we do differently from Clickz is key to why I think we've got the corner on the List Building and email marketing info niche. At heart, we focus 90% of our attention on giving you the info you need on HOW to do what you want to do, and closer to 10% on "filler" and theory, unlike Clickz. For the raw beginner, it can seem like there's just WAY too much information on their expansive site to sift through, and almost no plan of attack on how to get it done.
It's not just Clickz though, I see the same pattern over and over again on any number of blogs, forums and newsgroups. There's no end to the cool ideas, interesting trends and great information, but when it comes time for the rubber to hit the road you're left feeling like you're all alone in a huge ocean of "info."
So, here's the solution, and it's something you won't find on Clickz.com - Below is a link to a private video from my buddy (and eccentric boss) Tellman Knudson. He's probably the best "how to" expert I've ever met, and he just so happens to be a great friend. The video is called "Send Email, Make Money" and it reveals his step-by-step, paint by the numbers style system that takes you from square one, to having a simple, profitable website that builds an email marketing list for you. You won't find anything like it on Clickz.com, that's for sure. It's a crazy world online these days, and now you can quickly get to the point where you can simply send out an email and watch the cash roll in.
I've got nothing against Clickz.com, in fact I'm kinda hooked on their site right now. I highly recommend you check out what they do - but if you're just getting started, I have to say that you should get a solid, step-by-step foundation in place first.
