Habitat fragmentation is a vital issue to address when discussing the problem of our environment. Humankind is the number one cause of this fragmentation. We develop areas, not realizing that it is certain creatures' natural habitat, and by developing over the resources that these creatures need to survive, we can cause species to become extinct. This is not to be confused with geographic isolation, which spawns new species through evolution of populations over a great deal of time.
