This is ASD's demo Lifeforce, rendered into a volume.

Based on Toneburst's ( http://machinesdontcare.wordpress.com/ ) time cube experiments. My rendering method is crappy compared to his, but I added some animation.

Method: render the video frames into a stack (I'm also doing edge detection and making none-edge parts of the image transparent to make the shapes chearer). Then render a number of quads (80 in this example), with every 10th frame from the stack on each quad. This produces the cube.
