blow by is irrelevant. Dont waste your time stressing out over it. if the engine runs, keep driving.

Not bad after 220000 miles!

The Mazda 3 that I drive always had blow by since I had it. My brother had bought it brand new. I've read that 99% of four cylinder engines have blow by because they're overworked. Well, my engine doesn't burn any oil, but I think that it vibrates more than it should.

having the rings changed wouldn't cost so much would it?
-
maybe some new rings?

this is minor blow by....
-
drive it till it blows.

Yeah Derjew is right, this worry over blow by is such shite, as long as you cold start and oil consumption is not excessive etc etc.

can i use this test on a truck also its cause i want to buy a chevy 2500 hd diesel but i dont really know how to check on diesel engine :/

@mnm9194 Sure, the problem is you'd have to know what normal was. Some amount of blow by is normal, and that will go up with mileage. A more accurate and reliable way would be compression testing.

@derherr65 and how is that test ..the one where I have to put a hose in through the water deal and check the psi?

@mnm9194 I don't know the specifics of the chevy diesel. A compression tester and a good shop manual are required.
