Piece: Tarana
This form of Indian classical song is called the Tarana. The tarana is a piece where meaningless syllables are put together in some sort of pattern instead of using words. This specific tarana was composed by the marvelous Pt. Ravi Shankar. (correct that if it's wrong). It is being performed at the Uttoradhikar 8 concert in Astoria, NY hosted by the Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) featuring Nadeem Ahmad on solo tabla. It was directed by Selima Ashraf. He is accompanying the vocalists listed above in the tarana.
