software used:

FL Studio: music

apophysis: free fractal prog. used their crap scripting language (a relic of another era) to create a set of anims = sets of png files.

avisynth script: script to create vid clips from sets of png files and create a backdrop on which to overlay the clips. ..and mix in the music.

virtualdub: take the avisynth script and add smoothing filters, add logos, and resize the whole vid to 1280x720 (YouTube requirements for HD playback). -create an uncompresed rgb video with wav audio.

MeGui: take the uncompressed video and generate mp4 with h264 video and aac audio.

(whew!)

  • WOW! That was quite a show! Linked it to my favorites.

You have a knack for this; excellent work, sir!

  • .. thanks 8-) ... just stumblin' into stuff.

  • everything used to produce the visuals is free SW, btw. .. in case anyone's interested.

  • Awesome music! I prefer the vid in full screen. Mebbe a pan-zoom-fade kind of thing would work ('course I dunno how hard that would be.) Awesome tunage!

  • pan zoom fade! ..i'm discovering things as i go along.

for instance -this layout was a complete accident.

originally it was going to be a simple 480x360 with one bit of vid straight after the other, no fancy stuff. But the vid was real blocky -so i scaled it upto 1280x720 to make ytube see it as high def, but it looked overstretched, so i put the original vid in the middle of a 1280x360 -and that worked. Then i thought "it doesnt have to be all in the same place in the middle" - et voila! 8-)

  • This isn't the one that I've heard before- is it?

    I like this one too.

  • sorry.

contact me and i'll reimburse you for your wasted time.

  • toons sucks

  • i got an ultra cheap little fake-midi usb keyboard that FL Studio sees as a Midi keyboard. That helps me pick out chords and note sequences. I used to play guitar a little so i've a fair idea of what i want, but i'm totally unfamiliar with keyboard, so it's a bit of a hack getting there.

i like the struggle with the tech stuff to make it presentable .. 8-) .. if it was easy i#'d prob lose interest.

  • Do you plug a keyboard (piano type) into the computer or synth. it separately? I don't understand all the technical stuff, Bass sounds cool & I like the i,ages @1 min & when it combines @ about 1:11. Whole lotta work huh, getting any easier?
