  • So much more I could say, but, whatever. Hmmmm. Maybe I should teach a class. lol

  • Wow...I have a hard time believeing some of this. I am an experienced guitar tech, and I will tell you WD will gum up your strings and pots. ANYTHING that you wipe onto your strings is bad. If they're dirty or dead, change them. Anybody that plays above the 12th fret and thinks intonation is not important, well, I dont even know how to put it nicely, but, WRONG. Stretch your strings between the pickups and around the 7th fret before handing it to your boss, or you will be looking for another job

  • I'm in no way affiliated with any string companies.

But when he said you're a nut if you think you can tell the difference between an ernie ball string and a d'addario that's stupid! I can most certainly tell... call me a nut but you're just mad you don't have as good of an ear as me. The D'addarios sound noticeably different through my setup!

  • I've talked to some people who believe that the hole open string should be in tune with the 12th fret is garbage because then you have high percent of frets (between 1 and 24) that will go sharp and you'd rather have a higher percent flat then sharp because people can't hear that....

  • He doesn't know, what WD40 is :)

  • The minute you get oil on a guitar string, you deaden it. Wash your hands before you play & wipe the strings down with a dry cloth when your done. Strings will last a long time.

  • Yea, I rarely use it. It's mostly for those times when you just really need it and the strings are feeling too rough. I've had the same bottle of Finger Ease for about 9 years so =P.

  • Most techs and players I know feel Finger Ease makes stings feel like Elixers- too slick and greasy. And as it wears off, the silicon residue attracts finger dirt. Silicones are also often found in some fingerboard conditioners and also pot cleaners with residue. You'll be a better tech if you don't use silicones. And that from 35 years of experience!

  • I've been using it for 10 years. It is nice to have. I've been playing for 13 years. So yes, from a LOT of experience, the stuff is pretty useful.

  • He missed that! Needs big bends lube on the saddles too.
