It's totally obvious that Phoenix was putting on a stunt, his reaction time to the audience and Dave's comments were too quick for your average drugged-out junkie. Besides, this dude is one of the BEST actor's of our generation, he was bored and wanted to do something "outside the box" with his bro-in-law.

@bennett5058 it actually DID turn out to be a hoax... supposedly. Casey Affleck directed a movie (mockumentary specifically) about joaquin phoenix trying to be a rapper and this huge fallout in his rap career.

the movie is reportedly coming out within the next year but idk if the movie is just a cover up for all of these events or if this is seriously just some career stunt to help boost interest and controversy for this film.

@ilichalopez Well I for one said that it was a hoax from the moment I saw him and I was never on the fence as you call it, he did a good job but I was not at all convinced. My only other concern was that he may have been mentally ill but I thought that to be far less likely than the real reason for this masquerade.
