Heh. Kids are told we breathe out "carbon dioxide" by science teachers and school books, so it's accepted wisdom. They aren't told we breath out all the gasses we breathed in minus some oxygen (not all of it) *with* added water vapor, CO2, methane, alcohols, ketones, and dozens of other metabolic byproducts. That would just confuse most grade school students is the assumption and that assumption stems from an unconcious bias as well.
